Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) is advising of an indefinite towage strike at the Port of Barcelona from Friday 6th November. The action has been announced by the Confederación General de Trabajadores (CGT) union and will be followed by Tug Barcelona SAR.
The strike will comprise three shifts of three hour stoppages, creating in total nine hours of stoppages per day, varying in rotation over a five day cycle, then repeating from the start for an indefinite period.
Stoppage details are: 1st day (6th November) from 04:00 to 07:00 from 13:00 to 16:00 and from 20:00 to 23:00; 2nd day (7th November) from 04:30 to 07:30 from 12:30 to 15:30 and from 19:30 to 22:30; 3rd day (8th November)from 01:00 to 04:00 from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 15:00 until 18:00; 4th day (9th November): from 04:00 to 07:00 from 13:30 to 16:30 and from 21:00 until 24:00; 5th day (10th November): from 0:00 to 03:00 from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.
Tug Barcelona SAR has advised that it will provide two crewed tugs at all times to ensure the entry and exit of all authorised vessels. A tugboat will also be available for emergencies.
ISS Spain is working with its clients to minimise delays and will keep its clients updated.
