OPDR has  launched its new improved AGAX service connecting northern Europe with Morocco, the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands. Unlike before, the port rotation includes the port of Rouen. It therefore provides a direct connection between northern France and Morocco – in only four days.

The upgraded rotation offers excellent transit times in a highly competitive Moroccan market. Three 700 TEU ships are deployed on the new AGAX service. Besides the OPDR Tenerife and OPDR Cadiz, the 2008 built OPDR Tanger will call the following ports:

  • Southbound (17 days): Tilbury – Rotterdam – Rouen – Casablanca – Tanger Med – Gibraltar – Seville – Las Palmas – Huelva
  • Northbound (8 days): Las Palmas – Casablanca – Huelva – Tilbury

The launch of this new service will further strengthen the portfolio of OPDR in a very competitive market. By focusing on a fast direct connection to the South, the French customers will have an optimal service connection to OPDR’s core markets, including Spain and the Canary Islands.

The ships have called the port of Rouen where they were handled at terminal Normande de Manutention. From there, the ships will proceed southbound and call the port of Casablanca in four days.

Chief Executive Officer of OPDR, Till Ole Barrelet, said:

“The shortened transit time will allow us to offer our customers an even better service than before. Four days from Rouen to Casablanca is unmatched on the market.“
