HSSA Awards Maritime Scholarships for Academic Year 2017–2018
Athens, January 26, 2018 – The Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association (EENMA) held its annual event at the Nautical Club of Greece, where it presented scholarships under the “EENMA Scholarship Programme” for the academic year 2017–2018.

This year, the programme included a total of eight scholarships, aiming to strengthen maritime education by supporting high-achieving students pursuing postgraduate studies in the shipping sector.
The scholarships awarded covered a wide range of academic and professional training opportunities. These included the postgraduate scholarship “Spyros Alexandratos,” established in memory of the Association’s late President, the “Bureau Veritas” postgraduate scholarship, and the scholarship offered by the Volos Port Authority. In addition, seminar-based training scholarships were provided by Rina Academy.
Further scholarships were awarded for postgraduate programmes such as the “MSc in Shipping,” offered in collaboration with BCA College, and the “MSc in Marine Engineering Management” in cooperation with the University of Greenwich and New York College.

During the ceremony, representatives of EENMA and sponsoring organizations presented the scholarships to the selected recipients, recognizing their academic excellence and commitment to advancing in the maritime field.
The “Spyros Alexandratos” Scholarship was awarded to Olga Sideri, while the “Bureau Veritas” Scholarship was presented to Christos Spentzos.
The Rina Academy seminar scholarships were awarded to Ms. Sermetaki and Ms. Kastellanou.
The scholarship of the Volos Port Authority was awarded to Despoina Vossou, while K. Markogiannis received the “MSc in Shipping” scholarship.
The “MSc in Marine Engineering Management” scholarship was awarded to K. Papanikolaou.
Through its scholarship programme, HSSA continues to actively support the development of the next generation of maritime professionals, contributing to the advancement of Greek shipping and the strengthening of maritime education.
