Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
EENMA & BCA COLLEGE

Development of the “Diploma in Shortsea Supply Chain Management” Program

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Hellenic Shortsea Shipowners Association (EENMA) and BCA College for the development of a specialized educational program titled “Diploma in Shortsea Supply Chain Management.” The program aims to provide specialized knowledge to professionals, executives in maritime and port enterprises, recent graduates, and all stakeholders interested in the role and contribution of shortsea shipping to intermodal transport and modern supply chains. The MoU was signed on behalf of EENMA by Charalampos Simantonis, President of the Board of Directors, and on behalf of BCA by Charalampos Daskalakis, Chief Executive Officer of the educational institution.

The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge—delivered by BCA through its established academic expertise—with hands-on industry insight guaranteed by EENMA’s backing. Notably, this is the first educational program focused specifically on the shortsea shipping sector. It addresses an evident gap in maritime education regarding the sector’s vital economic and societal impact as a linchpin connecting transport networks and linking mainland regions with island communities. The first training cohort begins on November 4, 2026. Information regarding the syllabus, admission requirements, and registration is available at: https://www.bcagime.com/diploma-in-shortsea-supply-chain-management/

Following the signing of the MoU, the President of EENMA and President of the European Shortsea Network, Charalampos Simantonis, stated:

“This new agreement aligns with EENMA’s ongoing commitment to actively support maritime education. We firmly believe that the leading global position of Greek shipping is largely driven by the high calibre of its professionals. For this reason, they require modern, top-tier education and lifelong training to successfully navigate emerging market demands.”

The CEO of BCA College, Charalampos Daskalakis, expressed his satisfaction, stating:

“We consistently welcome new partnerships that enrich our academic foundation with the practical expertise and industry insight of leading organizations. We are confident that our collaboration with EENMA will leave a strong, positive footprint on the shipping industry, which BCA has proudly supported through higher education for more than five decades.”
